Conduct Unbecoming an Administrator...

Student Flyer,

1950

VANGUARD WAS FOUNDED on the proposition that it be of, for and by the students. Gideonse wants to add an amendment which will read: “under administrational control.” He needs this control in order to prevent Vanguard from expressing student opposition to his policies.

He has a catch-all gimmick to make this idea work; it is called “conduct unbecoming a student.”

If you speak our mind on ROTC, and happen to disagree with Gideonse, then it is conduct unbecoming a student.
If you present the facts of the Clarkson story when Gideonse wants them hushed up, then it is conduct unbecoming of a student.

And if you insist upon opposing such censors, then it is certainly conduct unbecoming a student.

FOR THAT YOU ARE MOST UNBECOMINGLY SUSPENDED...

Draugnav WAS PRINTED after all other means of printing an independent college newspaper were denied us.
It’s editors were suspended for insisting upon their right to maintain this independence.

THEY WERE SUSPENDED BECAUSE THEY INSISTED UPON CARRYING OUT THEIR RESPONSIBILTY TO THE CAMPUS: TO PRINT NEWS AS IT HAPPENS; TO PRINT VIEWS AS THEY SEE THEM.

Is it UNbecoming to contribute to Draugnav?
Is it UNbecoming to protest censorship?
Is it UNbecoming to fight the suspensions?

THE HELL IT IS!
